A birth chart (also known as janma kundali, janam kundli, Vedic horoscope) captures the precise astronomical positions of stars and planets at the individual’s birth moment. Using the vast amounts of information provided by
your birth chart, Vedic Astrology could predict every important event and possible opportunity that can arise in your life. Currently, the online java application software embedded in this page will generate your birth chart – a North-Indian and South-Indian style janma kundli from date of birth, time of birth, time Zone and place of birth i.e. you have to enter latitude and longitude of the place of birth.
You may include daylight savings time (DST) for the place of birth, if required. Remember, DST is never used in India. Hence, if the place of birth is in India, always select No for daylight savings.
It is a simple software, but it displays all the relevant information about a chart, namely, the positions of planets, divisional chart positions, nakshatras, Vimshottari dasha, Bhava etc., and of course it is absolutely free. If you are an astrologer yourself and are here to generate horoscopes for your own reading, you might want to note that the ayanamsha used in calculations is Lahiri’s Ayanamsha. The value of ayanamsha correction is displayed along with the chart. A helper application will allow you to generate South-Indian style of kundli, which can be saved as an html document on your hard disk. Another helper software application will allow you to save a North-Indian style kundali as an image on your local hard disk.
