Venus will transit (gochar) to Virgo/Kanya rashi in early morning hours on 25th September 2014 as per Indian Standard Time for a horoscope prepared for Bangalore. Venus remains in Virgo through October 19th, when it moves to its own sign of Libra on 19th October 2014. This is a very short transit in Virgo, mainly because it is not getting retrograde in the middle and is maintaining pretty much constant speed through the transit. Venus is combust around October 27, but by then it would be out of Virgo rashi. Venus would be conjunct with Rahu and opposition with Ketu on October 15th, when it comes within a degree of Rahu. At this time, Rahu, as its usual path is, is retrograde and Venus is moving forward with its constant speed.

Venus is debilitated in Virgo sign. It is a sign it cannot stand because it is the sign of temperamental Mercury, while Venus stands for sophistication and grace. Mercury, on the other hand is unpredictable and Virgo is its exaltation as well as moolatrikona sign. Venus is the teacher/guide of the Asuras while Jupiter does that job for Devas. Venus is therefore quite at home in Jupiter’s sign of Pisces, the opposing sign of Virgo.

During the transit of Virgo in September/October of 2014, Sun and Rahu are also in Virgo. Rahu effects both Sun and Venus by conjunction, with the closest conjunction between Rahu and Venus occurring on October 15th. The only saving grace is that Saturn is in Libra, in its exaltation sign, but that is not enough to cancel the debility of Venus and cause a neechabhanga rajayoga.

Needless to say, during this transit of Virgo, Venus will be weak and its affect will show up not only on transit results for various rashis, but for mundane astrology as well. For individual rashis, these effects should never be looked at in isolation, but along with all the transits affecting a person during the month.  The results below will automatically be taken into account along with other transits. Venus in its debilitation lacks all its beauty, appeal and charisma. There is a lack of refinement in appearance. Debilitated Venus can be visualized like a drunk, vulgar supermodel who has smudgy makeup all around added with rude and uncivilized behaviour. That’s a sight no one wants to see. There would be problems in love life. Deep inside, there is a lack of emotion and affection for others. There is anxiety (specially among males) towards the opposite sex and an inability to commit. For men, there could be problems in dealing with and socializing with women. For women, ladylike qualities and grace would be missing. Association with Rahu brings in a degree of perversion and strange alliances.

Usually, going by the theory, Venus gives good transit results when it is transiting houses 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, 8th, 9th, 11th and 12th from janma rashi or natal moon in a horoscope. However, this time, the results will be slightly modified. Since Venus is not only in fall, but closely aspected by Rahu also, the auspicious results for the above mentioned houses will be muted down. These results will not be similar every time Venus goes over Virgo. At other times, there could be benefic aspects by other planets. Rahu will not be involved next time around, after almost a year. Therefore, please do not take this as theory of Venus transiting through Virgo every time.
